Day 5-Your favorite recipes

I honestly would prefer to eat cereal.  But when I do cook, I like to make:
  • bran muffins from a package (just add egg and water- a memory from Sundays mornings with my Dad)
  • french toast (with cinnamon and vanilla)
  • rice, peas and meatball (cause it's the one meal that we can eat as a family- Little Miss is picky and we make her what she eats to avoid the fight)
Though I do like to eat!  Beef stroganoff, hamburger soup, and spaghetti are a few of our weekly faves.  When it's BBQ season (you know July, lol), we like to do veggie stir-fry on the grill.
  • Take a BBQ wok and tinfoil the bottom and sides of it (this prevents the marinade from burning and flaring up)
  • Take red onions, bell peppers (your fave colors), mushrooms, zucchini and cut up into even sized pieces
  • Put the veggies in a bowl and coat with light Italian dressing.  Let marinade for up to 12 hours.
  • Place in BBQ wok and cook over medium heat until cooked through
Works great with steak, ribs, pork tenderloin, or chicken!  If you don't cook it and just let it marinade- you'll have a fresh veggie salad.  Or you can serve over cooked noodles as a pasta primavera.

Another breakfast special is Mommy's Favorite Flapjacks
  • Open box or bag your fave complete dry mix pancakes
  • Add cinnamon and apple sauce to taste
  • Add water until the pancakes are the correct consistency
  • Cook and serve as usual

  1. Your grilled veggies sound so good. I will definitely be doing this one with all the veggies from our garden this summer and I add cinnamon and vanilla to my French Toast too. It's so yummy.

  2. I think that must be the universal yummy french toast recipe. I add them to mine too. Have you tried making it with challah bread?
